These projects have brought us years of rewarding research, fieldwork and collaboration. Thank you to all the colleagues, students and partners who contributed their ideas, energy and willingness to explore new approaches. We are building on that experience — and bringing our activities together in one place.
Our new shared home is OpenSkyLab, a research unit in the Faculty of Environmental Sciences at the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague. We use drones and satellites to explore how landscapes and vegetation are changing: how plants respond to drought and heat, how bark beetle infestation can be detected early, and how to make environmental measurements reliable and comparable.
Can we tell that trees are running short of water before they begin to wither? What can canopy temperature reveal — and when can drone measurements mislead us? These are some of the questions driving our work. Visit the new website to explore our current research, publications, teaching materials and student thesis opportunities.
This website will remain as an archive of the original project. For all our future activities and updates, visit https://openskylab.space.
